I can't believe it, I'm still sick. I've been feeling crappy for quite a few days now and it's really starting to bum me out. I haven't gotten near to finishing everything I've wanted to accomplish the last few days (at least my site and domain are snuggled in with a new host and registrar, but that's another longish story), not to mention my poor Warlock hasn't been played near as much as I would've liked the last few days. I'm kinda dizzy so I can only handle gaming for a little while before I get a pretty bad headache.
It's a really weird sort of feeling, it's somewhere between a sinus headache and a tension headache. I've been flushing my sinuses with my neti pot and doing neck rolls just in case it's either of those things, but it's not helping. About the only thing that does help is tylenol and naps.
This isn't even the most recent variation anymore. I uploaded it sometime last week and I've made quite a few changes since. I'm still working on a gold thread filigree sort of layer that's supposed to go over the red of her outfit. I'm winging it rather than trying to directly duplicate any particular armor from the game, though the basic cut of the robe is sort of inspired by existing pieces like Guardiansaint. I plan to make this one quite a bit more intricate though.
What I really want to do is to do a nice Draenei and then I could have one on either side of a nice desktop sized image. Hopefully I'll be able to sit fully upright for long stretches of time soon, that's kinda key.
Quick P.S. for my guildies, I've got a bunch of wool bags in my bank right now, seeing as how the guild bank is totally full (and sending items is costing Jarad quite a bit of coin) I thought I'd just leave them there and anybody who needs some has only to ask and I'll mail/hand them out. I can do some semi-decent enchants now too, (+15 health to chest woot!) so I may be looking to skill up if you know what I mean. ;)
Okay, it's time to lie down now. Cheerio!
So here we have the nearly finished hand-coloured piece, plus a quickie photoshop colour that I did using a photo of the original as a base. I had a lot of trouble with the fireball, so in the photoshop version I shrunk it down and toyed with the levels until it looked like a cross between a shadowbolt and a fireball. I'm still not happy with it, so that'll be one of the things I'll be concentrating on for the finished version.
I didn't have my tablet handy, so I did the best I could with the mouse. There are a lot of edges that could be stronger and cleaner, but since it was just a practice run I didn't worry about them too much. I'll probably start right from the original drawing again for the real finished version rather than modify this one. I'm still not happy with that spell effect, so I'm going to have a look at some tutorials online and see if I can find something that looks like it would fit in.
I've been working on it almost non-stop so I'll force myself to take a little break from it so I can get some other things done. I really need to be building up my stock again for fall and winter. I can sort of do it as I go but it's better to make lots of pieces ahead of time so I can just concentrate on selling them later. I've got a nifty idea for some of that jade I've got kicking around that should turn out extra awsome...if I don't screw it up that is. ^_^
Wow, it was just a bit of messing around with the ol' crayola pencils but it's really turning into something.
This is neat, I don't think I've ever done anything entirely in coloured pencils before. I usually draw in regular pencil first then either transfer or ink the lineart before adding any colour. In fact, it's been ages since I coloured anything in traditional media. I've been doing it all in the computer for a couple of years now. I was starting to think I couldn't do it the old way, but I'm actually BETTER at it now than I was before. *boggles*
That ear in the back that pointed the wrong way was really bugging me, so I turned it into hair. Then I thought it looked a little weird having just that one lock blowing around behind her so I added a few more. Now it's much more dynamic and closer to the "hot but scary blood elf lady" that I had in my head.
Sorry for the quality of the pics, I tend to work on it in the late afternoons when there isn't as much light. When it's done I'm going to try getting a better pic of it in my photo tent.
At least I did something productive on patch day for once. ^_^
