Our dear Hamham died sometime this morning, seemingly in his sleep in the bottom of his big plastic wheel. He was only 19 months old. I'm extremely hurt and rather surprised, because as far as I know Syrian (teddy bear) hamsters are supposed to live up to three years. He was sleeping a bit more than usual and not grooming not as much, but the last few days he's been fluffy and chatty again so we figured he was just coming out of a more sedate "winter" phase.
I'm really really really going to miss him. :'(
Been a little un-bloggy the last few days, so I thought I should post a couple pics I've been meaning to transfer off my SD card.
That afghan turned out pretty huge, and I still have some of the yarn left! Haven't decided what to make out of it yet, I'm thinking maybe a scarf for James, the colour (cream) would look kinda neat with his dark trenchcoat I think.
The snow was pretty for a few minutes, but then it reminded me too much of Alberta and I couldn't wait for it to go away. Our windows aren't really insulated for that kind of weather so no matter how much we cranked the heat it was still cold. Good think I finished that blanket!
How cute is Tim eh? He actually kept his eyes on the screen as he pushed buttons for a little bit, before he got bored and found a key to chew on. ^_^
I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my first post (or my bio or whatnot), but I do this little crafty thing called wire wrapping (mostly pendants) and sell my finished pieces on ebay. I've got about 13 pendant up right now, if anybody would like to go check them out. Clicky here for the pretties.
I really should be working on some more stock, but the heat is making me terribly lazy. I've got every single window open and every fan on full blast but the thermostat is still tells me that it's over 30 Celsius in here. Maybe I'll just throw on a Firefly disk or two and drink near-beer until I get sleepy.
